NIDO is an Argentine brand of knitted textiles, founded in Buenos Aires in 2012 by Julieta Racket.

We work with natural fibres — sheep wool, llama, cotton and linen, all produced in Argentina. Some of our wools are still hand-spun on treadle wheels and hand-dyed by spinners in the north of the country. Others arrive already spun.

Every piece is made by hand in Buenos Aires, and nothing is made before it is sold. We produce to order, in small batches, with a group of knitters who knit from their homes.

NIDO is currently stocked in Japan, Switzerland, the United States and Argentina.

—HOW THE PIECES ARE MADE

Hand-knitted — made with two needles, by hand. The most textured and the most labour-intensive of the three.

Hand-framed — knitted on a hand-operated knitting frame, a small machine worked entirely by hand, one row at a time. Between a hand-knit and an industrial power loom.

Hand-woven — woven on a hand loom, as our Telar pieces are.

—HOW IT WORKS

Two collections a year, Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter, following the northern hemisphere calendar.

We accept orders year-round, for both collections. Because every piece is knitted to order, you are not tied to a buying window — order when it suits your floor.

Production takes four to twelve weeks from the date we receive your deposit, depending on the size of the order. We confirm the date with every order.

—ABOUT THE PIECES

Because every piece is made by hand, small variations in colour, texture and measurements are part of the process. They are not defects — they are what makes each piece its own.

Made in Argentina.
